Who's Katie?

Instead of a self-summary, here is a little information on what makes me, me!

I grew up in Livonia NY, which is a very little town and with NY weather- so snowy snowy winters and humid summers. My mom primarily raised my brother and I as she worked full-time, and thus I have an overwhelming respect for single mothers and a fierce affinity to protect my momma.

As a kid, I loved to horseback ride, dance, cheerlead, listen to boybands, and hang out with my weird friends- who are still my best friends to this day. And I say weird, because my best memories of this time are of us pretending to be mermaids, pretending we were in a gang, making up fake presidential nominees, and writing stories about serial killers.

I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2018, after transferring twice. I had a tough time in college finding my way. I suppose that is typical of most young people. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology,  and the ceremony was on Mother's day, which was a nice tribute to my momma.

I am married to the best guy and my best friend, Ellison. We had our first date at Chili's back in January 2016 and were married in Rochester on December 22nd of 2018 (I love Christmas and winter weddings, so boom two in one!). I knew Ellison was the one when after one of our dates to the zoo, he sent me a package of sea otter stuffed animals in the mail because I had gotten excited over them on our date. Ellison loves spicy peppers, coding, sleeping in super late, and terrible foreign films.

We live in Fairport NY, near the Erie Canal. We spend most weekends taking walks along the canal, ordering takeout pizza, working on our lawn, going to baseball games, or watching movies. We like to try out local breweries and go to silent discos.

If I was an animal, I would be a dog. Nothing too exciting, but a pet who is loyal, dependable, excitable, and loves to sleep on the couch.

I love to read, watch British TV shows, bake, play trivia games, listen to podcasts, hike, do yoga, and play with our puppers Sal.
